  • A detailled answer you'll get on the weekend. I'm on a business trip and have no access to my sources.

The group-N winners 1984 must be Jürgen Schäfer/ ? Jörg.

  • Thanks Karlheinz, once more !
In those days German Rallyes used different words for the groups that all the rallyes in Europe (1,2,3,4). 'A' means what regarding that terminology ? Group 1 or 2 ?

  • Hi jorge,
it's as you aspected. In those days the organiser of the rallies wrote in the rally-regulations whitch car is in group 1 or group 2. The groups were divided mostly into 5 classes by ccm.
Some rally-organiser named the group A and B - and not 1 and 2. But it's the same.
In group 1 or A started cars with a Gr. 1 homologation an normaly in group 2 or B the cars with a Gr. 2, Gr. 3 or Gr. 4 homologation.
So, as you asked for the groups of Soltwedel etc.. I gave you the information A4. That means, this car is a Gr. 1 homologated car.
    For example:
Group A (or 1) - all cars with Gr. 1 homologation
Class A1: up to 1150 ccm
    Class A2: 1151 - 1300 ccm
    Class A3: 1301 - 1600 ccm
    Class A4: 1601 - 2000 ccm
    Class A5: over 2000 ccm

    Karlheinz:D

  • Just one last help, is someone knows :

In the 1981's edition in what group run 4th (Smolej), 6th (Petersen) and 9th (Kissel) ?

    Thanks in advance
    Best regards
    jorge

  • Hello Jorge, you are right!
I answered this without having a look on my results. So I had the 1983 Escort BDA in mind. You are right. The Audi has been a Group 2-car.

But anyway in German rallies in this time Group 2,3 and 4-cars have been seeded in the same class.
