hmmm, fast immer als es darauf ankam, hat doch das finnische Jungtalent die Kiste weggeschmissen ... evtl. ergibt sich hier ja wirklich eine Sensation, mit der keiner rechnet (siehe eure Tipps zum ERC-Tippspiel).
Dann würde sich Beständigkeit vor Schnelligkeit auszeichnen (so wie in den guten alten Zeiten

Kann mich noch an eine Eurosport-Live-Übertragung zu Beginn der ERC (damals noch IRC)-Ära erinnern, die spannend, gut kommentiert/visuell top aufbereitet war.

Glaube ich zwar nicht dran, aber auszuschließen ist es nicht.

Ich glaube, selbst wenn Wiegand Meister wird, weil Lappi das Auto ein Mal weggeworfen hat, würde Skoda in Zukunft auf den Finnen setzen wollen. Richtig fair wäre es natürlich nicht, weil Wiegand in diesem Falle die bessere Saisonleistung 2014 gebracht hat. Allerdings ist es - so wie ich es bisher erlebt habe - leichter einen Schnellen beständig, als einen Beständigen schnell zu machen.
PS: Nein, ich will die Leistung von Wiegand auch dieses Mal nicht schlecht reden...

Eurosport strahlt den ERC immer noch aus (kleines Glück datt mann in Holland zwischen NL und UK kommentar wechseln kann), eine stunde programm mit zusammenfassung und ab und zu ein paar stages live (werden aber leider immer weniger)

Craig Breen has gone fastest on the Qualifying Stage for round 10 of the FIA European Rally Championship, Rallye International du Valais.
Driving a Peugeot 208T16, the ERC title contender took 2m29.1s to complete the 3.30-kilometre test at the Caserne in Sion. Breen’s Peugeot Rally Academy team-mate Kevin Abbring was second quickest, 0.2s down on the flying Irishman, with current ERC title leader and last year’s Valais winner Esapekka Lappi next up for ŠKODA Motorsport.“It was not so bad, a nice stage,” said Breen. “I struggled on this stage last year but I found it’s a stage you have to attack even though it looks slippery. Everything’s going well so far and it’s a nice rally in prospect.”
Abbring, who was second quickest, said: “I did not have the best start position and it was tricky to get the right set-up and make the car work. There seems to be less grip so I have to use my brain to get the car ready.”
Lappi, who tops the ERC standings by 19 points, said: “I have not done so much driving recently but the feeling is okay. For sure we had a good feeling on this event last year but I know it will be tough. The weather is also going to be challenging but it’s nice it’s like this and not boring.”
Lappi’s ŠKODA team-mate and fellow ERC title contender Sepp Wiegand was fourth fastest. He said: “EP knows the roads here so for the first time for me it’s okay. The rally is completely new for me but I will try my best.”
It was a frustrating start to the event for Kajetan Kajetanowicz. The Pole is currently third in the race for the ERC crown but reported a problem with his LOTOS Rally Team Ford Fiesta R5 during the stage. “We have a problem with the electrics because the engine was stopping for 10 seconds in the stage, maybe more,” he said.
Eight-time Valais winner Olivier Burri was also in trouble when his Fiesta R5 suffered a driveshaft failure early in the run. The Swiss was slowest of the 13 priority drivers as a result.
Crews will select their starting positions at 11:30hrs local time. By winning the Qualifying Stage, Breen will get the first choice followed by the next fastest driver and so on until all drivers have chosen their positions.

Zumindest schöner Auftakt. Wahrscheinlich wohl endlich mal Alles oder Nichts und
nicht dauernd Ankommen und Lernen. Wenn´s schief geht Pech, wenn´s gut geht geil. -

Ich denke nicht, da die Rallye ja als Asphaltlauf deklariert ist. Aber man stelle sich mal vor, die wären die gesamte Distanz der WP gefahren. Da wäre der Sepp ja schon 15 sek vor Lappi. Und genau solche Bedingungen machen den Rallyesport aus!
